About the Program
Working to optimize health and promoting solutions designed to achieve high quality, cost-effective health care, North Idaho Health Network is partnering with MEDPro LLC to add a Prescription Assistance Program to the services they offer their 270 member physicians and five member hospitals in the five Northern Counties of Idaho. Headquartered in Coeur d Alene, this program and service will be offered at no cost to their membership and is designed to offer free or low cost prescriptions to people who are uninsured or underinsured and meet certain income guidelines.
Uninsured or underinsured patients often find themselves having to choose between medications and other necessities of life. But no one should have to choose. To help prevent this from happening physicians and medical clinics spend an average of 191 hours per-month assisting patients in finding free or low cost prescriptions, a service that is not reimbursable to the provider. MEDPro will provide NIHN members a select and dedicated team of advocates, giving patients access to one of the broadest selections of prescription assistance program services available. This will allow each healthcare provider to maintain the therapeutic relationship with their patients and relieves them from the time consuming task of applying for medications that stabilize patient’s health condition.
Through the Medication Access Evaluation Service, our MedPro professionals will:
- Conduct an initial evaluation of your particular situation
- Match your individual prescription(s) to the appropriate programs
- Review and verify the eligibility requirement for each program
- Inform you of your options and recommend the programs that meet your needs
- Provide an eligibility determination for Prescription Assistance Programs
Once you are ready to apply for the Prescription Assistance Programs the MEDPro processing department will:
- Obtain the application forms and complete your application process
- Act as your advocate if required
- Become the communication link between you, your physician’s office and the Pharmaceutical Companies
- Order your refills as needed
- Notify you when it is time to renew your applications
- Answer your questions and make updates to your information
- Stay current on trends and changes in available programs and how they affect your situation
